Background: Donna went to the Emergency Room in Bismarck with a laceration to her wrist caused by a sharp knife in a dish pan she was using to "clean up a few dishes she had from a midnight snack". She was treated by a UND Family Practice Resident. The patient was so irate with her mistreatment, she wrote asking us to publish her story.  Note: This woman has NO history of depression or suicidal desires. Here is what happened.

Subjective: Patient came to Emergency with a laceration on the wrist.

Objective: Patient came to Emergency with a laceration on the wrist.

Assessment: Patient came to Emergency due to a laceration on the wrist (possibly intentionally self inflicted).

Plan: Patient will make a follow-up appointment is next week. She is to be carefully followed by FP resident and at a distance by mental health personnel.

Patient stated she saw Dr. James Dungan.

UND, won't comment on this report and the resident, Dr. James Dungan remains out of reach as well.
